Painting
You will need etching primer for all the bare metal you'll need to prime. This is mixed 50/50 with activator,if You your doing the underside,in the engine bay and the floor you'll need about 3litres and 1 1/2 litres of activator.

Deal with the rust properly, grind it well back then treat with rust proofer. If it's deep pitted fill with filler and sand back, then use a good fillerprimer about 3 coats should do you.Once dry spray a little black paint over the primed area and when you've sanded the black paint off you know the area is flat and ready for painting.

When rubbing down, use 40 grit for the first coat of filler, then 80 on the next coat. Before you start priming, make sure you flat all the scratches back with some 180 wet or dry.Flat the primer with320 wet or dry and finish off with 600 for the whole area.Never put filler over paint you only use either a good 2 pack stopper or acrylic stopper.Always remember stopper is for scratches and shallow dents so don't try filling large dents or holes thats whats filler is for.

Before painting make sure the panel is dust free, use some spirit wipe to make sure there's no unwanted substances on the panel, the use a tacky rag to take the remainder of the dust off.Use a good 2 pack paint usally mixed 4:2:1. 4parts paint 2 parts activator 1part thinner.Use a medium activator as it does'nt go off to fast.

You'll need a spray gun, check the nozzle is right for the paint before you start otherwise it won't atomize properly and you'll end up with a horrible finish .When spraying you'll need about 60lbs of pressure at the gun.Spray with the gun about 18 inches away from the panel.Spray in even horizontal lines and hopefully you'll have a good result.

If you have any problems you're local paint factor should be able to help you out.I hope this gives you a ruff guide to painting.
