                Jersey Rally 2005

Well what a weekend.Had my seeding through car 66,started the frist of 8 stages friday afternoon around 1.20pm.We did bonne nuit first and then grouville, these were then repeated 4 times. The first run through was very nerve racking as i and my co driver had'nt been in a car together yet i still managed to be in 31st place after the first loop of two.By the time we finshed the afternoon stages there was only 38 cars left out of 73 and we were in 24th.The next loop of stages seen us out in st catherines there was only 4 of these as the la blinerie stage got cancelled. The first stage seen us drop 3 minutes due to an ignition fault and drop down to 32nd.After tha we climbed back up to finish the night in 28th.Saturday morning stages were 4 over st saviours and 4 over the longest stage trinity.the first 2 loops seen us climb up to 24th and then on the 5 stage the engine let go and that was that, the only consolation was 1 top ten time set through out the rally in a car with only 140 bhp......bring it on next year as more power is already in the pipeline..............................

Well the weekend ended up being very dry and warm which was excellent news,we started car 60 and started very well being 34th fastest out of 80 cars over the first loop of 2 stages. The problems began straight away with hardly any brakes for the first 6 stages,a qiuick bleed in service and we had an improvement. As we moved onto the night stages,we held our groung around the 32nd mark but more problems were on the horizen, the altenator belt kept coming adrift ,so great work by the service crew saw us go into parc fermme in 33rd position. Saturday morning started out relitivaly problem free untill on the last morning stage the engine chucked all the water out, don't know why but it never happened again,on to the afternoon adn the exhaust fell off twice which was welded up but we were lying 29th  when disaster struck, coming off the third last stage the gearbox jammed in neutral after a lot of swearing and a hammer and a screw driver we managed to get third gear.So we covered the last three stages stuck in third which dropped us down to 32nd overall, but we finished. Many thanks goes to steve my co-driver and my service crew
